Married at Mitchell Street Methodist Church to John. It was a Thursday, I think so we could xpend our honeymoon over the weekend at the Red Lion at Grasmere. Reception at Lord's Caterers at Whitworth. It had been lovely weather all week and the following days - but on the Thursday it bucketed down. No outside photos. We had organised the wedding cars and Jennifer had passed this info on. There was a car to pick up my Mum and Dad and another to pick me up. Mum and Dad were picked up and taken to church. I waited . . . and waited. No car for the groom! So I ended up driving myself to church in my clapped out Austin 1100. We joked about it many times afterwards . . but was she trying to tell me not to bother tuning up?!
